Selected High School LCCians participated in the first ever Division Open Competition in Journalism (DOC-J) on August 26-27, 2014 held at First City Providential College. The event is a joint project of Division Association of Secondary School Paper Advisers (DAPSA) and Division Association of Campus Journalists (DACJ), which aims to allow campus journalists to compete in the contest categories in journalism.

Participants came from both public and private institutions, which is estimated to be around 1,500 students. From the many campus journalists, 3 from LCC were recognized in the following categories:

7th Place Pagsusulat ng Lathalain
Ms. Eloisa Jean Hernandez (4A – St. Mary Immaculate )
10th Place Copy-reading and Headlining in Filipino
